AKWESASNE MOHAWK POLICE SERVICE CELEBRATES POLICE WEEK
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service will be celebrating Police Week from May 15-21, 2022. Police Week was first observed in 1970 and coincides with Peace Officers Memorial Day, recognized internationally on May 15. This year’s theme, “Helping Build Safer Communities”, highlights and celebrates the important role our first responders and personnel play in helping build and maintain healthy and safe communities.
As we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, police services will continue to find creative ways to connect with the communities they serve to promote our profession and our people during Police Week. Our police officers, EMTs, communication dispatchers, Firemen, and civilian personnel work hard every day to earn the public’s trust and confidence.
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and community partners will be hosting a number of social media and in-person events during Police Week 2022.
Follow AMPS on Facebook and Instagram for additional information on Police Week 2022. Also, look for upcoming dates for the Akwesasne Community Watch Program in all three districts.
