AMPS ARREST SUSPECT IN TSI SNAIHNE SHOOTING INCIDENT

On July 22, 2024, Akwesasne Central Dispatch received a call of an individual discharging a firearm as the result of a dispute in Tsi Snaihne (Snye). The suspect fled prior to police arrival. Police attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

 

On August 14, 2024, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police, working in partnership with the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA), detained and later arrested the suspect for firearm-related offences.

 

Trevin L. Lazore, 21, of Akwesasne was arrested and charged with Assault, Careless Use of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was remanded into custody, pending a bail hearing at a later date.
