CALL-OUT FOR VIDEO PARTICIPANTS
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Communications Unit is conducting a video project in collaboration with the Quebec Ministry of Language & Culture. We are currently seeking up to ten individuals who are willing to record a brief video(2-5 minutes) utilizing Zoom or other online contactless technology. The topics of the videos are life in Akwesasne through the decades.
Participants will receive a $300 stipend for their participation.
We are specifically seeking:
1 Mohawk speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1940s.
1 English speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1940s.
1 Mohawk speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1950s.
1 English speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1950s.
1 Mohawk speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1960s.
1 English speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1960s.
1 Mohawk speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1970s.
1 English speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1970s.
1 Mohawk speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1980s.
1 English speaker to tell a 2-5 minute story about life in the 1980s.
Requirements:
Participants must meet the requirements of the video they’ve signed up for, meaning they must speak either Mohawk or English, and must be able to tell a personal reflection or description of life in that particular decade.
Participants must have access to internet and must be able to record on their own at home for health and safety purposes. Communications staff will assist virtually and can provide equipment on the day of the scheduled recording. The preferred method will be Zoom. Elders may require assistance from family members to ensure equipment and programs are operational.
Participants must be willing to sign a video release form. The video will be used for educational and historical purposes.
