TSIIONKWANONHSO:TE LTC VISITATION PROCEDURES UPDATE

The Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long-Term Care (LTC) facility has been provided with updates to the Longterm Care Visitation Procedures, which are effective as of July 22, 2021. The LTC is required to comply with the Ministry of Health’s protocols. All other previous versions of the Visitation Program are revoked and replaced with this version.

• Designated Caregivers, support workers, and general visitors who are able to provide proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be required to have a negative Antigen test prior to visiting residents. Proof can be provided by showing the physical or emailed receipt that they have received the vaccination. A copy of the vaccination record from MCA or Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe vaccination clinics will be accepted as proof. If they provide the LTC with a copy of their proof, they will not be required to show proof at every visit.
• Any individual who does not wish to provide proof of immunization status must follow the testing requirements as stated in the Minister’s Directive.
• Any number of support workers may visit the LTC.
• Any number of Designated Caregivers may visit a resident at a time, provided there is the capacity for social distancing. The Administrator may restrict the number of times weekly that a caregiver visits, based on the LTC’s ability to ensure the safety of the residents.
• If a resident is self-isolating or symptomatic, a maximum of one (1) caregiver may visit that resident at a time.
• The Administrator may restrict the number of times weekly that a caregiver visits, based on the LTC’s ability to ensure resident safety.
• If a resident is in self-isolation or symptomatic for COVID-19, a maximum of one (1) caregiver may visit that resident at a time.
• Any number of general visitors may visit a resident at a time, provided there is a capacity for social distancing.
• All individuals entering the LTC ages two (2) and up must follow the testing requirements as stated in the Minister’s Directive. Parental consent is required for minors (individuals under 18 years of age) that undergo testing. If consent is not given and/or testing is refused, the individual is not permitted to enter the LTC. If a minor who is eligible for vaccination (currently ages 12-17) is fully immunized, they are exempt from asymptomatic testing.
• Pet visits are being discouraged. If a resident insists on a pet visit, the visit will be restricted to outdoors. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations for the visiting pet must be provided.

At the discretion of the Administrator, visiting hours may be reduced or cancelled altogether due to staff shortage. Every effort will be made to notify family of reduced or cancelled visitation hours ahead of time.
