Your Input Matters – Child Rights Law Consultations
The Eniethihswanón:na (Child Rights and Responsibilities Law) Working Task Group invites community members to participate in upcoming District Community Consultation Sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity to learn about the history and development of the draft law, share perspectives, and provide input on its future implementation.
Upcoming consultations will take place in the District of Tsi Snaíhne on November 4, 2026, and in the District of Kawehnó:ke on November 19, 2026. Meals will be provided by a local Akwesasne catering service on a first-come, first-served basis.
Community members are also welcome to submit comments at any time, as there is currently no deadline for submissions. To obtain a copy of the draft law or supporting documents, contact Legislative Services Manager Alyson Thompson at alyson.thompson@akwesasne.ca or 613-575-5000.
