DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WELCOMES NEW LAND-BASED HEALING SPECIALIST

The Department of Health’s Land-Based Healing Program would like to extend a warm welcome to the new Land-Based Healing Specialist, Steevi King. The Land-Based Healing Specialist will assist the Program Coordinator in working with community members and MCA programs to conduct small condolence fires, meditation, connection to the land, healing concepts and practices, and assisting with the Canoe Journeys Program. 

 

Steevi was born and raised in the District of Kana:takon, where she continues to reside and raise her family. She is an advocate of healthy living and helping the community achieve a healthy lifestyle in all areas of their lives: physical, mental, and spiritual. Her passion for fitness, healthy living, and cultural practices have provided her with opportunities to work with community members of all ages. Steevi is excited to use her 20+ years of experience in the health, fitness, and environment fields in her new venture within the Department of Health.
