MCA SEEKING RESPITE PROVIDERS FOR VULNERABLE SECTOR
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is currently compiling a database of individuals and contractors who may be able to provide respite care (temporary care) to the vulnerable sector. Care is sought for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and other special needs. Respite care is typically short-term but can provide a priceless care to the client and the client’s primary caregiver.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include:
· Physical care (bathing, lifts, transfers, hygiene, etc)
· Recreational outings
· Supervision
· Overnight support
· Transportation
· Adaptive Daily Living Skills
· Life Skills
· Parenting support
· Meal prep
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education or experience working in the vulnerable sector
· At minimum, must be in post-secondary school in the human services field
· References
· A clean criminal background check (CPIC, vulnerable sector, CW record check)

· Children with behavioural challenges
· Children with Developmental Disabilities
· Children with Autism
· Children with Physical disabilities
· Respite for Caregivers of Children with the above mentioned
