WATER RESTORED ON KAWEHNO:KE -Special Instructions for Houses that Lost Water

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Water/Wastewater Program is informing the community that as of 4:30 p.m. today, Aug. 19, 2024 water service has been restored on Kawehno:ke to the 15-20 homes that lost access after yesterday’s water main leak.
Those houses that lost water and have now had their service restored, please follow these procedures:
- Run all faucets in the home until there is a steady stream
- Run the water for an additional minute
- Water is then safe to use and consume
