CALL OUT FOR (5) TSIKARISTISERE TRUSTEES

Deadline Date for Applications: Friday, October 18, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

Applications will be taken from interested Members seeking an appointment as a Trustee under the Tsikaristisere Trust (“the Trust”).

Seeking: Five (5) Community Trustees
Term: Various (4-6 years)
Honorarium: As per Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Honorarium Policy
Eligibility List: An eligibility list may be established for appointment of replacement Tsikaristisere Trustees

 

Eligibility Criteria for Tsikaristisere Trustee:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age;
• Be a Member of the Mohawks of Akwesasne;
• Not have been removed as a Trustee within the previous twelve (12) month period;
• Not be an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent, as defined in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada), or in any jurisdiction in the United States of America;
• Not have been adjudged or declared to be mentally incompetent or incapable of managing their own affairs by a court of competent jurisdiction;
• Must have obtained or be willing to obtain, within the first twelve (12) months of appointment, introductory level trustee accreditation from the National Aboriginal Trust Officers Association of Canada (NATOA) or other qualified training centre;
• Not be a member of Council, or if so, be willing to resign from Council;
• I have not been charged or convicted of an indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada;
• I have not been charged or convicted of a Summary Offense involving fraud, false pre-tenses or theft under the Criminal Code of Canada.

 

Must agree to sign a Consent to Act as Trustee Schedule “A” of the Trust, that I will perform the duties and fulfill the obligations of a trustee as set out in the Agreement.
