EMERGENCY MEASURES DONATES EQUIPMENT TO HAVFD

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Emergency Measures Program (EMP) staff is committed to supporting Akwesasne during times of crisis, and they are deeply grateful for their many partners, including the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department (HAVFD), who are always ready to step in when assistance is needed. This dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly, available 24/7, 365 days a year, responding to emergencies with unwavering commitment.

EMP recognizes and appreciates the selfless service of HAVFD and all the Akwesasronon who contribute to the safety and well-being of our community. Your dedication, bravery, and sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and we are truly thankful for everything you do to keep Akwesasne safe.

As a token of our gratitude, the EMP consulted with the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department to identify some of their essential equipment needs. In response, the Emergency Measures Program has donated $30,613.00 worth of equipment to HAVFD through the Akwesasne Community Fire-Smart Safety Plan, funded by the Emergency Management Assistance Program (Indigenous Services Canada). The donation includes:

-20 pairs of FireCraft FLAME Plus Fire Gloves

-20 pairs of Fire Eagle Air Leather Fire Boots

– 6 Mustang Classic Flotation Suits

-2 Mustang Ice Commander Suits

-8 sets of 3D Mesh Base Layers (pants, shirts, and vests)
