TREE OF HOPE LIGHTING EVENT TO HONOUR MMIWG2S

Join us at Lamoureux Park on December 5, 2024, from 6–7 PM as we light the Tree of Hope, honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S).

This powerful event, organized by the Akwesasne Family Wellness Program, Cornwall Police, and the City of Cornwall, is a moment of reflection, resilience, and action. Together, we’ll stand in solidarity with families and communities impacted by violence.

The evening will feature traditional songs, prayers, speeches, and the symbolic lighting of the tree adorned with red lights and ribbons — each representing a life, a family’s strength, and our shared commitment to justice and healing.
