The Akwesasne Rights and Research Office extends its deepest, heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends, and community of Kana:takon as we mourn the passing of Tim “Dooley” Thompson, former MCA Grand Chief, District Chief of Kana:takon, and a former ARRO portfolio holder.
Tim “Dooley” Thompson dedicated his life to the betterment of Akwesasne, serving with honor and a profound commitment to advancing our collective rights. During his last two terms in office, Dooley worked tirelessly on the ARRO portfolio, contributing significantly to addressing critical issues and ensuring the voices of Akwesasronon were heard and respected.
His leadership, wisdom, and dedication have left a lasting impact on the staff and work of ARRO, as well as on the broader Akwesasne community. Dooley’s efforts pushed forward important initiatives, embodying the spirit of advocacy and perseverance that defines our people.
As we reflect on his contributions, we honor his memory and the legacy he leaves behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
The Akwesasne Rights and Research Office joins the community in remembering and celebrating the life of a true leader and advocate. Rest in peace, Tim “Dooley” Thompson. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
