CALL OUT FOR BEAVER TRAPPING

The MCA Environment Program is seeking local trappers in Akwesasne to provide beaver trapping services.

Between January 13, 2025 to March 21, 2025, interested trappers can contact MCA Environment, and bring in whole, freshly-caught beavers.

We will collect data to assist with our initiative to monitor and manage the local beaver population, and help us learn more about this traditional practice and land stewardship. 

Trappers will be provided with paid honoraria per beaver.

Some of the beavers may be kept for future workshops on trapping, hide tanning, or meat preparation.

We encourage our traditional practices, and aim to provide a space for sharing knowledge and experiences.
