NOTICE OF TENDER: TSI SNAIHNE BIRCH ROAD WATERMAIN CONSTRUCTION & DOMESTIC WATER SERVICE CONNECTIONS

TENDER FOR CONTRACT 2019-001 BIRCH ROAD RECONSTRUCTION

Tenders, sealed in envelopes and clearly marked as to the contents, will be received by Mr. Joe Francis, Acting Director of Technical Services, Akwesasne Technical Services Unit, Administration Building No. 3, Cornwall Island, Ontario K6H 5T3, Telephone (613) 936-1548, until:

11:00 a.m. local time – July 5, 2019

for the construction of the works described below.

On the same day, commencing at 11:05 a.m. local time, the tenders will be opened and read publicly at the Cornwall Island Administration Office #3 on Cornwall Island.

The work consists of 150mm dia. watermain construction on Birch Road from Border Road intersection to the end of Birch Road (approx. 275m). Disturbed road surface areas to be restored to existing conditions, water services to be installed to existing residential units on the road (approx. 5), complete with interior connections, existing well capping, and entrance culvert replacements.

Plans, specifications and tender forms may be obtained from Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Cornwall Island Administration Building No. 3, Cornwall Island, Ontario.

Tenders must be accompanied by a tender deposit payable to the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne as follows:

· for First Nations contractors in the form of a certified cheque, bank draft or money order in the amount of 10% of the total tender price to a maximum of $20,000;

· for all other contractors as a Bid Bond for an amount equal to 10% of the total tender price.

Evaluation of all tenders will follow the Tendering Policy of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, which is intended to increase the participation of local and other Aboriginal businesses in construction and materials supply contracting.

Tenders are subject to a formal contract being prepared and executed. The Council reserves the right to reject any or all tenders and the lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
