ADDICTIONS SERVICES STAFF WELCOMES RENOWNED SPEAKER, STEVE KELLER

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Addictions Services Program will be welcoming renowned speaker and program developer, Mr. Steve Keller, to the community of Akwesasne. Mr. Keller has conducted numerous engaging workshops and programs which raise awareness of drug addiction and youth in Canada. 

Mr. Keller is a graduate of Trent University’s School of Education and has worked in the field of Addiction and Mental Health since 2015 as a speaker, content creator, and analyst. He has spoken on subject matter related to gambling, cannabis, alcohol, nicotine, opioids, and other risky behaviours for nearly a decade, both within Ontario and Nationally. 

Mr. Keller will be speaking in Akwesasne on March 1st and 2nd, focusing on reducing harm in communities. The details of his speaking engagements are as follows:

  • March 1, 2025: Snye Homemakers, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. “Reducing Harm in Communities”
    Workshop open to those age 13 and up.
  • March 2, 2025: Turtles Nest, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. “The Overdose Crisis: Spotlight on Opioids, Sedatives, and Stimulants”

All those who attend Steve Keller’s presentations, as well as the film showing of “A Sobering Story” on March 22nd and 23rd will have their names entered into a drawing to win one of two prizes:

  • Ninja Creami Deluxe
  • Ninja Drip Coffee Maker and Espresso Machine
