AKWESASNE MOHAWK POLICE SERVICE CELEBRATES POLICE WEEK 2020
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) and Community Partners will be celebrating Police Week from May 10-16, 2020. Police Week is an annual event that focuses on raising awareness on the work of police services in Canada and the United States.
This year Police Week will be dedicated to all First Responders in the community of Akwesasne. Each year police proudly select a theme to highlight and celebrate the important roles of our local First Responders.
The theme for 2020 is “Leading the Way to Safer Communities.”
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police and community partners will be hosting a number of social media challenges while keeping in mind social and physical distancing in the community.
A facebook event page will be created to highlight each challenge during police week. Please use hashtag #AkwesasnePoliceWeek2020 with any photographs or videos you wish to submit. For each challenge or event completed your name will be entered in a draw for prizes at the conclusion of Police Week.
Akwesasne Child and Family Services will also be hosting a Window Art/Lawn Signage Contest during Police Week 2020. This event is to show appreciation by window painting and /or decorating yard signage for front-line workers and those deemed essential.
