AMA EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF TOM HERNE

It is with heavy hearts that the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance announces the passing of Thomas “Tom” Herne on April 24, 2025. The AMA extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

For well over 25 years, Tom served the community of Akwesasne as a proud member of the Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance. As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), he provided compassionate care and mentored new EMTs. He also provided steady leadership during times of need, bringing comfort to countless individuals through moments of fear, pain, and uncertainty

Tom’s kindness, patience, and dedication to helping others will never be forgotten. His contributions to the AMA and Akwesasne have made a lasting impact, inspiring and uplifting all who had the privilege of knowing him. As he begins his journey to the Sky World, may his spirit be honored through the lives he touched and the example he set. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who follow.

Rest easy, Tom. Your work here is done — your brothers and sisters in service will carry it from here.
