AMPS POLICE BLOTTER (AUGUST 4, 2020)

Assault W/ Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Uttering Threats
Patrick J. Benedict, 60, of Akwesasne was arrested on July 25, 2020 and charged with Assault w/ Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, and Uttering Threats. It is alleged on July 24, 2020, the male attended a residence in Kana:takon (St. Regis) with a bat and challenged a person to a fight, the male uttered a threat and departed the residence. The male was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

 

Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation, Obstruct
Brandy J. Fisher, 27, of Brasher, NY was arrested on July 24, 2020 and charged with Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving, and Obstruct Peace Officer. It is alleged that on July 24, 2020, New York State Police pursued a vehicle to the Canadian border in Tsi Snaihne (Snye), QC. Akwesasne Mohawk Police attempted to stop the vehicle by activating the emergency equipment; a brief pursuit was conducted and the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot into the marsh. Police located the female and placed her in custody. She was transported the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Station where she was charged and later held for a bail hearing.   

 

Failure To Comply With Conditions
Matthew Jacobs, 31, of Akwesasne was arrested on May 23, 2020 and charged with failure to comply with conditions stemming from an incident in Tsi Snaihne (Snye), QC. He was later released to appear in court at a later date. 

 

Obstruct, Possession of Illicit Cannabis
Tazzaz J. Oakes, 24, of Akwesasne was arrested on May 18, 2020 and charged with Obstruct Peace Officer and Possession of Illicit Cannabis. It is alleged on May 18, 2020, Akwesasne Mohawk Police Marine Unit (SAVE) stopped the male on the St. Lawrence river for a safety check; upon inspection, police discovered a large quantity of cannabis products. The male was placed in custody and released to appear in court at a later date. 

 

Flight from Police, Resist Arrest, Possession for the Purpose, Importation of Cannabis, Breach of Probation
Jeremy A. Williams, 23, of Akwesasne was arrested on May 14, 2020 and charged with Flight from Police, Resist Arrest, Possession for the purpose of distributing Cannabis, Importation of Cannabis, and Breach of Probation. It is alleged that on May 14, 2020, the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit heading to the district of Tsi Snaihne (Snye).  Akwesasne Mohawk Police continued to pursuit for a short distance on River Road where the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Police continued the foots pursuit and placed the male in custody. A search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of Cannabis. The male was held for a bail hearing.
