UPDATE: BODIES FOUND IN SNYE

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police are providing an update regarding the discovery of several bodies in the Akwesasne territory. 

A total of eight (8) bodies have now been recovered in total.  The circumstances surrounding the deaths continue to be investigated.  There is no threat to the general public.   

One of the adult males, identified as 28-year-old, Florin Iordache, had two Canadian passports in his possession, one for the two-year-old child that was recovered and one for a one-year-old infant that was also recovered. One of the adult females has been identified as 28-year-old Cristina (Monalisa) Zenaida Iordache.   

The identities of the four Indian Nationals have not yet been confirmed and next of kin have not yet been notified. Until confirmed, names will not be released to the public.
