DFA WELCOMES ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION SERVICES

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Finance & Administration (DFA) is pleased to announce Andrew Francis as the new Associate Director of Information Services.

Andrew, a proud Akwesasronon, brings nearly two decades of experience within the organization.

His journey with Information Services began in the summer of 2006 as a student intern with the then Computer Services unit. After completing his Bachelor’s degree, Andrew returned home in 2009 and continued his path with MCA, officially becoming a full-time Computer Technician in 2012.

Over the years, Andrew has contributed to major modernization projects that have helped transform MCA’s digital infrastructure. In 2016, he joined the Department of Health Administration, where he played a key role in implementing an Electronic Medical Records system and led efforts in policy development, capacity building, and establishing frameworks for data governance, privacy, and security.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew supported the department’s transition to remote work which ensured the continuity of care and communication during unprecedented times.

Andrew shared, “As I embrace this next chapter, I remain grateful for the many mentors, colleagues, and departments I’ve worked with; and I look forward to continuing to build strong, forward-thinking innovations that support the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s mission.”

Andrew’s career has been defined by dedication, strategic thinking, and a passion for community service. His experience, deep knowledge of MCA operations, and leadership skills make him a valuable asset to the DFA team.

Please join us in congratulating Andrew Francis on his new role!
