LAND-BASED HEALING LAUNCHES FIRST WOMEN’S SUNRISE PADDLE EVENT
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Land-Based Healing Program (LBH) launched its first Women’s Sunrise Paddle event. The Women’s Sunrise Paddle was hosted by Land-Based Healing Specialist, Steevi King, along with Traditional Medicines Arisawe Lazore, and singer/songwriter Bear Fox.
The Women’s Sunrise Paddle met at 6:00 a.m., had welcoming words from Arisawe Lazore and Bear Fox, a meditation session, then launched their kayaks and enjoyed a relaxing paddle along the banks of the St. Regis River. The participants were provided with a light breakfast after the paddle was complete.
The next Women’s Sunrise Paddle is scheduled for Thursday, September 28th and launches from 16 Akwesasne Street in Kana:takon at 6:00 a.m.
