DOH STRESSES IMPORTANCE OF NO SUPER BOWL PARTIES OR GATHERINGS
With the vaccine roll out, and the recent numbers of positive cases on the decline, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s (MCA) Department of Health (DOH) is stressing the importance of not gathering, or hosting parties for Super Bowl Sunday. Efforts remain diligent within the DOH, and across MCA programs, to continue the downward trend in positive cases.
The DOH is asking for the community’s assistance in continuing the decline of positive cases. The DOH would like to remind community members that visitations to other homes are still not recommended, per the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 Guidelines.
While we recognize how big an event the Super Bowl is in Akwesasne, Akwesasronon are being encouraged to watch the Super Bowl safely and responsibly, from the comfort of your own home, or seek out alternative methods to watching the game with friends and family, such as hosting a virtual Super Bowl party via Zoom, FaceTime, or other video chat media.
