DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WELCOMES DR. CORY SCOTT TO DETOX CENTER MEDICAL TEAM

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Health (DOH) would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Cory Scott. Dr. Scott will be joining the Sahatihahará:ne Detox Center Medical Team. Dr. Scott will provide medical oversight of any clients who are receiving services at the detox center.

 

Dr. Scott has been practicing Family Medicine since 2018. He graduated medical school from McMaster University and completed his residency through Queen’s University. Prior to working full-time in Addictions Medicine, he ran a family practice, worked in the ER and provided inpatient care. 

 

Dr. Scott has been practicing Addiction Medicine full-time since 2021. He is a member of the Physician Advisory Group and a Regional Medical Director for Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres, the largest provider of recovery programs for substance use disorders and addictions in Canada. Dr. Scott’s passion for addiction medicine began in medical school while doing an elective within the Shelter Health Network in Hamilton, Ontario. 

 

Dr. Scott is committed to providing the best-in-class comprehensive care that meets the needs of patients in the continuously evolving landscape of addiction within our communities.
