DOH WELCOMES DR. ÈVE MAILHOT-DAYE
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Health would like to welcome Dr. Ève Mailhot-Daye to the medical team. Dr. Mailhot-Daye will be providing medical care to residents at the Iakhihsohtha Lodge as a part-time resident medical care provider.
Dr. Mailhot-Daye is Mohawk from the Kanesatake territory. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in the fields of Biology and Physiology. After entering the job market, Dr. Mailhot-Daye learned about the Quebec First Nations and Inuit Facilities of Medicine Program, to which she applied and was accepted. She obtained her medical degree in 2019 and completed a Family Medicine residency in 2021 through McGill University.
Since graduating, Dr. Mailhot-Daye has been based in Kanesatake, where she offers varied health services, such as Family Medicine Clinics at the Kanesatake Health Center, elderly care at Riverside Elders Home, and substance abuse treatment at Onen’to:kon Healing Lodge.
Dr. Mailhot-Daye looks forward to offering her services to the community of Akwesasne and the residents of Iakhihsohtha Lodge.
