DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WELCOMES NEW ACCREDITATION MANAGER

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s (MCA) Department of Health (DOH) is pleased to announce the department’s new Accreditation Manager, Shealene Gibson. 

 

Shealene is a lifelong resident of the District of Kana:takon, and graduated in 2018 from Algonquin College’s Advanced three-year Business Degree program. Shealene is currently continuing her studies and will receive her First Nations Health Management Designation in September 2022. 

 

Shealene has been working with MCA since she was 15 years old, being placed in various programs for the summer employment program. Shealene began her employment with the Department of Health in 2003, serving in various roles from Reception, Acting EA for Traditional Medicine, to Administrative Assistant for the Directors of Health, before becoming the successful candidate for the Department of Health Accreditation Manager.
