This event will explore the root causes of key safety issues — including human trafficking, gang involvement, MMIWG, mental health, addictions, and suicide — and offer tools to help front-line workers, allies, and community leaders respond with care, confidence, and cultural understanding.

🗓 Thursday, May 15, 2025
🕗 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 OPG Saunders Hydro Dam Visitor Centre (2500 Second St W, Cornwall, ON)

The training will be led by Hannah Buck of the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) and will include two key focus areas:
• Community Safety Planning – Learn how to assess community needs, develop safety strategies, and apply trauma-informed and culturally grounded approaches.
• Human Trafficking: Best Practices for Front-Line Workers & Allies – Explore effective ways to support survivors, manage burnout, and navigate real-world scenarios from screening to successful exit.

Participants will enjoy a complimentary breakfast, receive free swag, and have the chance to win a door prize!

⚠️ Space is limited to 30 participants.
