Welcome to the Office of Vital Statistics (OVS), where tradition meets modern service delivery. Serving the vibrant community of Akwesasne and beyond, OVS is your trusted source for a range of essential services. From Indian registration to status cards, bridge passes to estate matters, our dedicated team is here to ensure your needs are met with efficiency and care.

The Office of Vital Statistics is comprised of 5 components: Indian Registration, Membership/Residency, Lands, Estates, and Leasing.

 

The goals of OVS are:

  • To ensure the Kahniakehaka traditions, customs and beliefs are reflected in the areas of Lands, Membership, and Estates.
  • To ensure the integrity of vital statistical information in the areas of Lands, Estates, and Membership.
  • To clearly identify and provide the resources needed to operate an efficient and productive Office of Vital Statistics.
  • To improve the working relationship between the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and outside governments in the areas of Lands, Membership, and Estates.
