Human Resources

Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Human Resources is a program operating within Mohawk Council’s Central Resource Services Department. Human Resources acts as a support service to all the Departments and Programs of MCA. In turn, these departments offer a service to the community. Human Resources staff currently consists of seven (7) staff members. The Human Resources staff guides and assists Program Managers with respect to Human Resource issues and respond to staff inquiries.

Present roles of Human Resources are as follows:

  1. Recruitment & Selection
  2. Orientation
  3. Compensation Management
  4. HR Policy
  5. Early Return to Work (RTW) Program

Future roles include:

  1. Training & Development
  2. Career Planning & Development
  3. Benefits
  4. Health & Safety

Presently, Human Resources is in the process of restructuring/reorganizing Human Resources to better meet the organizational needs of Directors and Staff. I.e. Establishing internal control mechanisms, revising all existing forms, creating processes, etc.
