HEALTH PROMOTION & PREVENTION PROGRAM ANNOUNCES HEART HEALTH CHALLENGE

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Health Promotion & Prevention Program is announcing a Heart Health Challenge for the month of February. Heart Health Month is celebrated in February, which makes the perfect time to learn some facts, tips, and recommendations for keeping your heart healthy. The challenge will take place from February 7th – February 28th.

The goal of the Heart Health Challenge is for participants to do up to 30 minutes of exercise, five days a week. As an incentive for participating in the Heart Health Challenge, there will be a drawing for a Wellness Basket for those who have participated.

How it works:

  1. Do 30 minutes of moderate exercise. This can be brisk walking, swimming, yoga, cardio, weights…you do you!
  2. On the Heart Health Challenge daily post, comment or post a photo in the comment section of your work out/activity.
  3. Each day you post on the Heart Health Challenge daily post, your name goes into the drawing for the Wellness Basket.

Anyone of any age can participate! The challenge is open for Akwesasronon and employees working within Akwesasne.
