INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY IN AKWESASNE

On August 31st, the SRMT Alcoholism/Chemical Dependency Program, MCA Wholistic Health & Wellness Program, and Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service teamed up for their annual event in honour of International Overdose Awareness Day.

 

Luminaries lit up the Tewathahita Walking Trail at Generations Park as community members honoured their loved ones lost to overdosing and raised awareness of the opioid epidemic. Nia:wen/Thank you to everyone that attended and showed support to all those who have been affected by drug-related deaths. Together, we can work to reduce the stigma and #EndOverdoseAkwesasne.
