JORDAN’S PRINCIPLE PROGRAM RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION FROM INDEPENDENT FIRST NATIONS
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Jordan’s Principle Program received a Certificate of Appreciation from Independent First Nations’ (IFN) Jordan’s Principle Coordinator, Leeann Schimoda, at a recent gathering for Jordan’s Principle Programs. The certificate was presented to the Jordan’s Principal Program Manager Mavis Williamson and Jordan’s Principle Navigators Rachel George, Ohentiioa Lahache-Deering, and Sheryl Thompson.
The Certificate of Appreciation was presented to the Jordan’s Principle staff in acknowledgment of establishing the program in Akwesasne and all their hard work in serving the needs of Akwesasne children and youth. The presentation came at the end of a 2-day gathering of Jordan’s Principle Program Managers and Navigators throughout Ontario who came to hear presentations from Indigenous Services Canada – Jordan’s Principle, First Nations Child and Family Caring Society, and provided networking opportunities with other First Nations operating Jordan’s Principle programming.
