LEGISLATIVE DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES SURVEY

Through Mohawk Council Resolution 2021/2022 #184, the Oversight Committee on Legislative Development is mandated to complete three Akwesasne Laws on a yearly basis; to achieve the mandate, they need to identify the legislative priorities for Akwesasne.

 

The Oversight Committee is asking for community input to help determine which legislative needs should be prioritized for development. The laws in need have been categorized into 3 groups: new, in draft, and to be amended. In the survey, please select your top three laws in each category and rank them 1-3, based on your own opinion of priority.

 

This survey is only open to Akwesasronon. To receive and complete the survey, please email connie.lazore@akwesasne.ca.

 

The survey will also be mailed to all households in the northern portion of Akwesasne. It can be completed in person and dropped off at the following locations:

  • Akwesasne Justice Dept.
  • Akwesasne Court
  • Iohahi:io Akwesasne Education & Training Institute

 

The survey closes on April 14, 2023.
