MCA COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAM ADMINISTERS COVID-19 VACCINE TO LTC HOMES AND STAFF
The Department of Health’s (DOH) Community Health Program is announcing that the first COVID-19 vaccine clinic took place over the weekend of January 15-16, 2021. Residents and staff in MCA’s long-term care (LTC) facilities were given priority in receiving the COVID-19 vaccines when they were made available.
Over the two-day vaccine clinic at the LTC facilities, 110 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered: 70 on January 15, and 40 on January 16. There has been no adverse effects or reactions reported. If any LTC residents or staff were offered the vaccine, and they opted not to receive it, the next order of priority was contacted: police, medical transport, and home care staff.
A big niawenhkó:wa is extended to the team of nurses and staff who went above and beyond assisting the LTC homes in getting the vaccine delivered and administered.
