Police Search Uncovers Illegal Weapons

TERRITORY OF AKWESASNE – On the morning of April 30, 2014, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service executed search warrants at two Hilltop Drive residences in the village of Kana:takon (St. Regis). The investigation leading up to the searches included charges related to the purchase and sale of weapons and marijuana, as well as conspiracy, fraud, and participating in a criminal organization.
The investigation began as a tobacco investigation that was being conducted by Canadian and American law enforcement. AMPS became involved when the focus of the investigation turned to firearms and drug trafficking on a large scale. As a result of the search and seizures, police have dismantled illegal operations that were part of larger, Montreal-area crime.
Wednesday’s searches resulted in the seizure of weapons, currency and explosives in which further charges will be pending. AMPS also seized 5 vehicles, several snowmobiles, and cash during their search. The vehicles and snowmobiles were utilized during the investigation for conveyance purposes in the commission of the offenses.
The following individuals have been arrested in connection with AMPS’ searches and seizures:
Anthony David Jr., 49, Tracy-Ann David-Dogget, 47, Fallon David, 31, and Christopher Thompson, 26.
Montreal authorities made several of their own searches and arrests connected to this investigation.
