AMBE Confident In Lifting Some Of The Imposed Safety Precautions

Kentenhko:wa / November 4, 2015

After careful review of the situation The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education, and Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services are confident in lifting some of the restrictions on our community schools. While safety procedures are always in place in AMBE schools, we believe our extra measures provided an opportunity for students, staff and community to implement these procedures.

We will remain vigilant in our procedures; however as of Thursday, November 5, 2015 our schools will have outdoor recess. The following safety precautions have been put into place and will continue for the remainder of the week:

  • There will be no late busses.
  • Doors will remain locked during Latchkey and additional staff is available to greet parents for pickup.
  • Post-Secondary Bus Drivers have been notified to remain vigilant as they transport students from Cornwall to Akwesasne. Late Bus will resume for CCVS.

Again, your children will be kept safe. We wish to thank staff and parents for their support and understanding in ensuring student safety.
