CARING DADS WORKING SESSION POSTPONED

The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program’s Caring Dads working session has been postponed due to Mid Winter Ceremonies. The first session will be held on TuesdayJanuary 24th, 2017. More information will be provided closer to the start date.

 

NEW CAN 8 MOHAWK LANGUAGE CLASSES OFFERED

MCA employees are eligible to attend the new series of Mohawk language classes being offered by the Akwesasne Economic Development Agency utilizing their Can 8 Program.Registration never closes, and all MCA employees are guaranteed a spot in the classes. If you register, you’re accepted. Forms can be returned via e-mail, in person at the AEDA office, or via fax at 613-932-8460.

 

GENERAL AND DISTRICT MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne will hold District and General Meetings on the following dates in January:

Kawehno:ke District Meeting – Jan. 9 at the Kawehno:ke Recreation

Tsi Snaihne District Meeting – Jan. 11 at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation

Kana:takon District Meeting – Jan. 16 at the Kana:takon Recreation

General Meeting – Jan. 26 at the Kawehno:ke Recreation.

All meetings start at 6 p.m. Council looks forward to your attendance.

 

MENDING BROKEN HEARTS GRIEF RECOVER GROUP – Registration Required

Evening Group on Tuesday’s beginning Jan. 10, 2017 at the Kanonhkwatsheri:io Health Facility, Turtle Room, Third Floor.

January 10, 2017 - February 14, 2017

6 Weekly sessions every Tuesday

Week 1-3: 5pm-8pm

Week 4-6: 5pm-9pm

Deadline to register is Friday, Jan. 6 by 4 p.m. or when space is filled.

 

GREEN FOOD BOX DEADLINE

The deadline to order a Green Food Box for the month of January is Friday, Jan. 6 at 4 p.m. Please stop in the Community Health Office at MCA to order or call 575-2341 Ext. 3220 for more information.

 

EAT CLEAN & GET LEAN CHALLENGE

The Community Health Program is hosting an Eat Clean & Get Lean Challenge! This is not a diet, it’s a healthy eating makeover and lifestyle improvement. Meetings will be held every Wednesday for 6 weeks from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., from Jan. 18-Feb. 22. To reserve your spot register athttps://studiobookingsonline.com/MCAcommunityhealthprogram. BLOODWORK – WHAT IS IT FOR? FREE INFORMATION EVENT

The Community Health Program will be hosting a Bloodwork – What is it For? Informational session on Jan. 25, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation Centre. Have all your bloodwork questions answered. This is a free event and coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided.  Call 575-2341 Ext. 3248 to reserve your spot.
