Tsiothohrko:wa/January 20, 2017

The Communications Unit will be hosting FOUR Akwesasne Winter Carnival Events including an MCA-wide scavenger hunt to encourage community members to get to know all of programs and locations. The schedule is being finalized by the carnival committee but the Communications Unit is looking for anyone to assist with planning, prepping or providing prizes for its four events.  We have some prizes already identified but could use a few more including some large, incentive-type prizes.  If you are interested in sharing your ideas or time, please contact Shannon Roundpoint at Ext. 2210 or

1. Akwesasne Family History Trivia - Family teams of four will answer Akwesasne-related history questions.  Grand Prize is the family to be featured on a billboard promoting family time.

2. Akwesasne Writing Contest - Open to all ages, any length. Topic is:  "Why Akwesasne is a Great Place."  Winning entries will be turned into a commercial.

3. Bounce Your Ideas Off Us - Bouncy houses for children while they and their parents share their ideas with the Communications Unit on what information they wish they had from MCA or ideas for engaging community members and sharing information.

4. MCA Scavenger Hunt - Teams will be required to either take photos or answer questions based on each location around MCA.  Prizes are needed as well as input from programs on what could be "found" or photographed at their office for the hunt.
