EXTERNAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

MOHAWK RAFFLE
There will be a Mohawk Raffle in the lobby at the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe onFriday Feb. 3rd from 8am - 3pm. Come out to support the Akwesasne Wild Bantam and Atom Girls Teams going to the LNHL.  For more information please contact Amy Smart 530-415-2492 or April Seymour at 518-651-7985.

POWER WHEELS RACE

The Akwesasne Winter Carnival will be holding a Power Wheels Race. The race will take place on Friday Feb. 10, 2017 at 11:00am at the Tsi Snaihne School. The race is open to children ages 0-7 years old. Please pre-register with Rob White or Cynthia Lord at 613-575-2340 or 613-551-7037.

TEA BOILING CONTEST

There will be a Tea Boiling Contest on Saturday Feb. 11, 2017 during the Akwesasne Winter Carnival. The contest will be held from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Snye Recreation. Teams will consist of two people ages 13 years and older. All Supplies will be provided. No registration is required. This will be a timed competition. Prizes will be awarded for the top three times out of all heats! 

CAKE BOSSES

The 2017 Akwesasne Winter Carnival will be holding a Cake Bosses Cake Decorating/Taste Competition. The theme for the competition is: Winter Adventures (showing the fun things of Winter!) The rules are: Decorate a cake according to the theme, you can work alone or with a partner, this competition is for amateur bakers only! No registration is required. 

Please drop off your cakes on Sunday Feb. 12, 2017 between 9am and (noon) 12pm. 1st and 2nd prize will be awarded for two divisions; Taste and Decoration. Cakes will not be returned, they will be served at the final meal. Winners will be announced at the Closing Ceremony.

LOG SAWING COMPETITION

The Akwesasne Winter Carnival will be holding a Log Sawing Competition onSaturday Feb. 11, 2017 from 10am - 2pm at the Snye Recreation. There will be three age categories: Men and Women ages 20 and over, Teens ages 13-19 and Youth ages 8-12. There will be prizes for the top two finishers in each category. Prizes will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony.

TURKEY BOWLING
Please join the Akwesasne Winter Carnival for Turkey Bowling! This family fun event will take place on Saturday February 11, 2017 from 10am - 2pm. No registration is required!

Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place.

AKWESASNE WINTER CARNIVAL 2017 GRAND PRIZE

The following are a list of prizes to be won during the 2017 Akwesasne Winter Carnival.

GRAND PRIZE - Weekend Getaway for a Family of 4! You may choose from the following; Quebec City Water Park (Wendake), Niagara Falls Water Park (Skyline hotel), Niagara Falls Water Park (Great Wolf Lodge). Plus spending money! Total Value $1,200 includes lodging and water park tickets only. 

Other prizes - $200 gift certificate from #9 Fuels, $100 gift certificate from Bears Den, $100 gift certificate from Twin Leaf and $100 gift certificate from Speedway Convenience.

To enter you need to participate in an activity and receive a ballot to be returned to the Snye Recreation Center. Drawings will take place at Closing Ceremonies. 

WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!

GRIT & GLAM NEWSPAPER FASHION SHOW

There will be a Grit & Glam Newspaper Fashion Show during the Akwesasne Winter Carnival on Saturday Feb. 11, 2017 at 3:30 at the Snye Recreation. Teams must consist of 4, one team member being a parent or grandparent and one team member being the model. The model will have to walk the runway. All supplies will be provided. The first 10 teams will be accepted. There will be a one hour time limit to finish your project. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Prizes will be awarded for the top two designs.

PANCAKE MAKING CONTEST 

There will be a Pancake Making Contest during the Akwesasne Winter Carnival onSunday Feb. 12, 2017 from 10am - 1pm at the Snye Recreation Center. We are looking for teams of two, all supplies will be provided and there is no registration required. Prizes will be awarded for the top two teams at the closing ceremonies.
