MCA Community Health Announces Partnership With Youth Fitness Group

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Community Health Program is pleased to announce their newest official partner, the Iakwa’shatse Youth Fitness group.
Iakwa'shatste Youth Fitness is a non-profit organization that provides free fitness programming to youth in Akwesasne in exchange for community service.Iakwa’shatste’s purpose is to provide expert fitness, nutrition and leadership education to youth in the community of Akwesasne. They strive to empower the next generation through the cultivation of healthy bodies and minds, aligning directly with MCA’s Community Health Program’s mission to create healthy generations.
MCA’s Community Health Program is proud to work with this dynamic and passionate group of individuals to increase the access to healthy living and education opportunities for Akwesasne youth. Currently fitness and nutrition staff from the two organizations are collaborating to deliver workshops on Monday and Wednesday evenings to youth and families. The Community Health Program looks forward to further developing this partnership in order to benefit the youth and families of Akwesasne.
