TSIIONKWANONHSO:TE HOSTS FASHION SHOW AS PART OF THEIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long-Term Care (LTC) facility hosted a fashion show featuring their residents as the runway models. The residents wore traditional clothing designs made by local designers Cheryl Bruyere and Diane Lazore, and proudly strutted their stuff down the runway.
Each of the totas who modeled in the show were accompanied down the runway by an Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services officer, who volunteered to escort the residents down the runway on show day.
The Tsiionkwanonhso:te Fashion Show was one of the events featured for their Day of Cultural Celebration. The Cultural Celebration also hosted a women’s singing circle, and a performance by local recording artist Bear Fox.
The LTC would like to thank those who helped in making the fashion show a huge success. Many volunteers and local designers came together to put on a fun, memorable event for the totas.
